Appeal to the green consumer

According to GfK's 2022 Green Gauge report, 45% of consumers take environmental protection into account when making a purchase, and that number continues to rise. With this in mind, it's important that your consumers know how your product affects the environment. GfK Etilize enables retailers, distributors, and brands to display eco-conscious product attributes to start the discussion on sustainability and to give eco-conscious consumers the data needed to make a purchase.

    Reusability

    • Recycled

      • Indicates if a product is made of recycled material or not.
    • Recycled Content

      • The amount of waste material used in a product against the fresh material.
    • Post-Consumer Waste Percentage

      • The percentage of post-consumer recycled content used in the manufacturing of a product.
    • Environmentally Friendly

      • Indicates if it's a green product or not.
    • Environmental Certification

      • A certificate given to green products which are considered environmentally safe according to objective, authoritative testing.
    • Repairability Index

      • The Repairability Index or Repairability Score is a scaling system from 0 to 10. The higher the score the product has means that it will be easiest to repair.
      • These new requirements aim to encourage maintenance and consequently reduce electronic waste.

    Energy Efficiency

    • Energy Efficiency Class

      • The energy efficiency of the appliance is rated in terms of a set of energy efficiency classes from A to G on the label, A being the most energy efficient, G the least efficient.
      • The labels also give other useful information to the customer as they choose between various models.
      • As of March 2021 there are new energy labels and revised energy efficiency classes for household appliances. In addition to the new energy labelling rules, there are corresponding new regulations on ecodesign.
    • Energy Efficiency Class in Heating and Cooling

      • Heating and cooling energy efficiency shows how an appliance ranks on a scale from A++ to E according to its energy consumption.
      • A++ being the most energy efficient, E the least efficient.
    • Energy Efficiency Ratio

      • The EER is the ratio of the cooling capacity to the power input.
      • The higher the EER rating, the more efficient the appliance.
    • Seasonal Space Heating Efficiency

      • Seasonal space heating energy efficiency is in a key role as a base for labeling classification.
      • It is defined as the ratio between the space heating demand for a designated heating season, supplied by a heater and the annual energy consumption required to meet this demand, expressed in %.
    • Compatible Bulb/Installed Bulb Energy Efficiency Class

      • The energy efficiency of the appliance is rated in terms of a set of energy efficiency classes from A to G on the label, A being the most energy efficient, G the least efficient.
      • The labels also give other useful information to the customer as they choose between various models.
      • As of March 2021 there are new energy labels and revised energy efficiency classes for household appliances. In addition to the new energy labelling rules, there are corresponding new regulations on ecodesign.
    • LED Module Energy Efficiency Class

      • The energy efficiency of the appliance is rated in terms of a set of energy efficiency classes from A to G on the label, A being the most energy efficient, G the least efficient.
      • The labels also give other useful information to the customer as they choose between various models.
      • As of March 2021 there are new energy labels and revised energy efficiency classes for household appliances. In addition to the new energy labelling rules, there are corresponding new regulations on ecodesign.
    • Supported Lamp Energy Efficiency Class

      • The energy efficiency of the appliance is rated in terms of a set of energy efficiency classes from A to G on the label, A being the most energy efficient, G the least efficient.
      • The labels also give other useful information to the customer as they choose between various models.
      • As of March 2021 there are new energy labels and revised energy efficiency classes for household appliances. In addition to the new energy labelling rules, there are corresponding new regulations on ecodesign.
    • Energy Efficiency Index

      • Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) is the power consumption relative to a reference power consumption.
    • AGA Energy Efficiency Rating

      • The Australian Gas Association (AGA) energy labelling program is for gas water heaters. Energy labelling works best for appliances where there is a range of efficiencies on the market, and this is the case with gas water heaters.
      • The gas appliance labelling program differs from electrical appliance labelling in that it is administered by the industry body rather than by government.
    • Energy Rating

      • The star rating is about energy efficiency – more stars means more efficient when compared to other models of the same size.
      • Most products are given between 1 and 6 stars.

    Water Consumption

    • WELS Water Consumption

      • The WELS star rating – the stars indicate water efficiency: the more stars, the greater the water efficiency.
    • WELS Rating

      • Water Efficiency Labelling and Standard is a labeling scheme initiated by the Australian Government to help Australian households conserve water and money.
